Your doctor may give you a small container or you could use a clean, empty plastic one that you have. If your stool isn’t loose or watery, you could also spread newspaper or plastic wrap over the toilet rim. Make sure your poop doesn’t touch the inside of your toilet. A stool test involves the collection and analysis of fecal matter to diagnose the presence or absence of a medical condition. If the specimen contain mucus, the examination prefer to be done without saline. The mucus is put on the slide and covered with cover slip.
