Water mist system working principle

The diameter of the water mist particle range from to 2µm which improves the fire extinguishing effect and efficiency of the system. Water based systems include low pressure water mist , high pressure water mist , medium velocity spray systems and high velocity spray systems. The water mist fire fighting system basically consists of fire detection part and fire fighting part. The fire detection part monitors and detects the fire condition of the protected area.

If any fire is detecte it transits the information on fire location to the main control panel.

In principle , our firefighting turbines work with water , foam or a mixture of water and foam. Depending on the spray pattern , the water input can be varied between 1and 7liters per minute. The minimum working pressure for low pressure system is 12. For the intermediate pressure one, the operating pressure is between 12. A water mist system is a fire protection system which uses very fine water sprays (i.e. water mist ). The small water droplets allow the water mist to control, suppress or extinguish fires by: cooling both the flame and surrounding gases by evaporation.

This extremely fine size droplets brings unique cooling effect and localized oxygen displacement effect which makes FOGTEC System highly effective though using only small amount of water. When extinguishing a fire, water mist produces a higher rate of heat extraction and at the same time uses less water.

Water mist has a central advantage over the conventional water jet, in that the mist can penetrate everywhere and thus cool and extinguish very efficiently. This is how it works: the turbine atomizes water into a fine mist. In contrast, water mist systems work by both cooling the room temperature and displacing oxygen with steam. Like other fire protection systems, water mist systems do use water , with one key difference: smaller droplets. Initially developed for the marine industry, to be used in fire protection systems of crew and passengers cabins on board ferries, boats and cruise ships, later on these systems proved to be highly effective and suitable in many other non-marine applications.

Water Mist Systems Water mist nozzles and systems are the ultimate development in fire-extinguishing technology. These systems are known by a number of terms including Fogging Systems or Spray Cooling. Water mist fire suppression system (WMFSS) is one of the candidates in substituting the Halogen-based total flooding system.

The system with strong spray momentum gives a satisfactory performance in extinguishing solid fires, liquid fires as well as kitchen fires under no ventilation. Fire Water Sprinklers Working Principle. Attached to the frame of the sprinkler is a deflector which direct and convert the stream of water into a spray designed to cool or protect a certain area. The amount of water discharged depends upon the flowing water pressure and the size of the sprinkler orifice. Lower water flow rates allow for reduced pipe size, which decreases the overall system weight, simplifying installation.

In order to verify the application of water mist on fire protection of the Potala Palace in Tibet and deepen the knowledge of its suppression mechanisms under high-altitude conditions, a series of. A problem associated with water spray systems, which have been improperly installed. One company on the forefront of research in the water - mist category is NanoMist Systems, LLC.

The water - mist system they have develope NanoMist, uses an extremely fine mist that exhibits gas-like dispersion behaviors to absorb the energy of the fire and act as a flooding agent to extinguish fires.

Standard on Water Mist Fire Protection Systems. This standard protects life and property from fire through the standardization of design, installation, maintenance, and testing requirements for water mist fire suppression systems. The company is a panel of dedicated professionals and companies having an interest in fire fighting systems using water mist as an extinguishing agent, released a Position Paper on water mist systems design and installation. Water mist systems design and installation is one of the main aim of the International Water Mist Association (IWMA). NFPA for the installation and design of sprinkler equivalent water mist systems.

As the water evaporates it makes both the water and air around your skin cooler. High Pressure Misting takes it to the next level With misting you are using the same principle. Only without the wetness! Remember to work around obstructions such as speakers, televisions, umbrellas, planters, or ceiling fans. You do not want the mist to collect and drip.

Every misting pump makes noise. Plan on tucking it away with other equipment like air conditioning units or pool pumps.
